Canvas
Canvas prints are a speciality. Our 12-colour pigment ink system and high quality heavyweight canvas is capable of producing stunning vibrant colour reproduction. This is a handmade product using traditional stretcher bars with wedges, allowing retensioning without restretching. Larger frames use premium bars which are fully finger-jointed, to resist warping and ensure your frame remains straight and true. Ink longevity has been officially tested and rated at in excess of 90 years under normal display conditions. Canvases are finished by up to 3 coats of protective spray, which further increases UV resistance to fading, reduces the possibility of damage to the image and provides a splash proof water resistant coat.
Two print sizes are available online, but we can print any size our roll-printer allows (currently 24" max by any length). If you need a really large canvas (and some of our customers do!), then you might consider a triptych. This could be either a single image divided into three panels or three images on a theme hung together. If you do want a really large single panel frame, then we can provide this also using our trusted suppliers. Please bear in mind that it may take a little longer for us to supply some of these options. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Standard print sizes available online are 26" x 18" and 18" x 12".
Prints
Photographic prints are available either on their own or with a range of mounts, bespoke frames and a choice of glazing if desired. Bespoke framing is undertaken in-house and we hope to make some of this available online shortly. In the meantime we offer classic framed packages at reasonable prices online and at select events. If you wish to use our bespoke service should contact us directly to discuss your requirements. Two print sizes are available online, but we can print any size our roll-printer allows (currently 24" max by any length).
Standard print sizes available online are 18" x 12" and 9" x 6". Mounts measure 20" x 16" and 12" x 10" respectively. If you require alternative mount sizes and / or styles (e.g. double mount) please contact us directly.
Luxury Greetings Cards - a gift and card in one!
Images are available in the form of a luxury greeting card made of mountboard and ready to frame. These are supplied complete with a sturdy card envelope for you to use when posting. The prints measure 7" x 5" and the open folder mount measures 10" x 8". This is a standard size and suitable frames are readily available on the high street.
Are you looking for images to promote your business's goods and / or services? We can provide photographic services at an hourly rate so that you remain in charge of the costs, no matter how many images you require. Full copyright can be provided.
Images are supplied on DVD or CD as JPEGs or TIFFs as well as the original RAW format should you wish. Please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
Kirkstone
Photography is based in Brampton, North Cumbria
and was established by Richard Siddle in 2006.
It represents a major career change for Richard:
“My interest in photography
has been lifelong. I cannot remember the make
of my first camera, but I have vague recollections
of Kodak 110 and 126 instamatics. I really got
going with the advent of rangefinder cameras
and the Olympus XA and spent many weekends either
with Scouts or Duke of Edinburgh exploring mid-Wales,
generally in less than sunny conditions. This
camera taught me the basics of aperture and
depth of field, so when I could afford my own
SLR I found I was able to play around with other
aspects of photography.
Unfortunately it was about
this time that I became immersed in my degree
studies at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. I then followed
this up by studying as a chartered accountant
and spending the next 12 years working in various
organisations in Finance (and not having much
time available for anything else, let alone
photography). In 2005 I settled in Cumbria with
my family and realised that I had lost sight
of the things that really interested me.
I decided to take the leap
and resigned my job in order to work full time
establishing Kirkstone Photography. I hope you
like what you find. I do not restrict my photography
to any one area, but do like to ensure that
I am always developing my skills in new areas.
I hope to take more advantage of my immediate
surroundings – and with a choice of Hadrian’s
Wall, the Lake District, Pennines, Northumberland
National Park and the Scottish Borders I don’t
suppose I will run out of opportunities for
a very long time to come.” |
